TKE is on the hunt for a seasoned leader for its Prairie Region team. As the Vice President, Prairies Region reporting directly to our Canadian President, you'll play a pivotal role in leading our company's transformation. We are looking for a strategic leader who is motivated to make a tangible impact on growing our business through our talented people.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you'll be tasked with ensuring that the Prairies Region not only meets but exceeds revenue and EBIT targets. You'll be at the helm of leading change, driving growth, motivating our team members to surpass targets while delivering excellent customer service through operational excellence.
This role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, execution, and evaluation of all lines of business. The leader develops followership and carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, programs, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; managing performance; rewarding and coaching employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. All people-related actions are executed in partnership with HR.
What you will be doing:
- Drives and supports a culture of safety throughout the organization and in the region. Includes partnering with Health & Safety to continuously improve safety performance, acting as the face of safety to all employees; and strategically leading programs involving safety to ensure successful execution.
- Builds a culture that attracts, develops, and retains top talent to maximize human capital and diversity, creating a leading employee experience.
- Leads change within the Region aligned with key programs and plans.
- Strategically leads District Leaders within the Region with an emphasis on empowerment and growth across our construction, modernization, service, and repair business lines.
- Improves business practices for higher-level performance execution by introducing improvements based on fact-based analysis and benchmarking; and examining alternatives which include evaluating costs, risks, and benefits.
- Strategically reviews P&L and other financial reports to evaluate the Regions’ performance to ensure budgetary targets are met and exceeded. Responsible for the Regions’ profit and loss, which includes reviewing and approving budget plans for the Areas and presenting annual budgets to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Assesses relationships with customers and consultants to ensure a consistent level of service throughout the Region. Includes ensuring the Region presents a unified approach to servicing customers and provides a level of customer service that is differentiated from competitors.
- Analyses and defines a multi-year market-based strategy for the Region in line with overall business strategy. Includes articulating evolving priorities for the business within a 3–5-year period; participating on corporate panels; asking questions which open new ways of seeing the business; and translating corporate strategy into a business strategy for the districts.
- Creates insights about the marketplace by identifying the interrelationships among the company’s services and the customer, and how they contrast with the competition in relationship to the changing marketplace. Includes strategic involvement in all large contracts and bids.
- Maintains strong familiarity of company offerings and an understanding of TK Elevator, its mission and objectives, ethical standards, and code of conduct.
What do you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master’s in Business Administration, or related field a plus.
- Requires 10-15 years of experience in senior management in the elevator or related industry.
- Must have experience successfully operating a large team with significant P&L
- Must have led other leaders and managed diverse groups in a matrix organization.
- Must be very well organized, have a high energy level, strong work ethic, acute attention to detail, and be process-oriented.
- Must be motivated, goal-oriented, and proactive.
- Ability to identify, own, understand, lead, and delegate to ensure accurate completion under strict timelines with minimal guidance; ability to react well under pressure and willing to accept responsibility.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; must be able to address business challenges and provide solutions.
- Must be a team player with the ability to lead, motivate, engage, and develop others.
- A good planner who can lead a team through change adoption & continuous improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
