QC Inspector II

OVERALL POSITION PURPOSE:

The Quality Control Inspector II is responsible for assuring the quality of parts fabricated within TK Airport Solutions, as well as parts received from vendors and suppliers. This position identifies problem areas, performs inspections of materials, conducts operational testing of equipment, and measures painting processes. The Quality Control Inspector II also compiles quality statistics and reports using PC-based software, provides management with timely communication, and makes recommendations for improvements to ensure quality finished products and accuracy within the Quality Control program.

CORE TASKS:

1. Inspection of Materials and Finished Goods:

1. 1. Accountable for the inspection of raw, in-process, and finished materials using blueprints, including:

i.  Fabricated steel

ii. Electrical parts

iii. Painted parts

iv. Welded parts

v. Electrical assemblies

vi. Mechanical assemblies

vii. Finished goods

1. 2. Perform inspection and failure analysis of defective parts from all areas of the production line and suppliers.
   3. Inspect welded parts, painted parts, electrical assemblies, and mechanical assemblies during in-process and finished-goods inspections.

2. Inspection Equipment:

1. 4. Responsible for the operation of mechanical inspection equipment, including measuring tape, calipers, coating thickness gauge, and micrometer.

3. Quality Reporting and Analysis:

1. 5. Design and compile quality statistics and reports using PC-based software.
   6. Initiate, track, coordinate, and report quality issues involving raw materials and processed parts.
   7. Provide management with timely communication and recommendations for quality improvements.

4. Supplier Quality:

1. 8. Visit suppliers to perform inspections of parts and assemblies.
   9. Perform quality system audits and corrective action implementation audits.

5. Manufacturing Quality Standards:

1. 10. Assure internal manufacturing processes adhere to TKAS Welding Specifications and Procedures.

 QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION HOLDER:

Experts Know How/Knowledge:

• Fluent in English and Spanish
• SAP experience, Excel and MS Office.

• Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings.

Expected (Educational) Qualifications:

• High School Graduate with 2 years of college or technical school, or equivalent work-related experience. ASQ and CWI Certifications preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within a metal manufacturing environment, including experience with quality systems such as ISO 9000.
• Experience in metal fabrication techniques and welding is required.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems and industrial coating systems is required.
• Must possess excellent mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
