What will you be doing?
Reporting to the National Credit & Collections Manager, the Senior Collection Specialist is responsible for performing customer interactions and follow-ups that ensure payments are received as per the established terms and in accordance with the Cash Collection and Aging Targets.
- Perform daily collection activity for an assigned portfolio of accounts through daily telephone collection calls, email
- Reconciliation of customer accounts
- Build and maintain relationship with a variety of customers in a dynamic industry
- Determine appropriate plans of action for delinquent accounts and resolve day-to-day account issues
- Collaborate with cross functions to handle exceptional cases or resolve collection issues
- Support Cash Application team by providing payment details to properly apply payments to customer’s accounts
- Holds Monthly A/R review meetings with District/ Accounts Managers for the purpose of resolving disputes and identifying present and potential troublesome accounts
- Timely escalate all Collection, Billing , Reconciliation issues to District/ Sales Managers & National Credit & Collection Manager
- Complete reports on the status of delinquent accounts and related Collection efforts
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager
What do you bring:
- +3 years of collection experience in Commercial Collections
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Intermediate Excel Skills
- Previous experience in the construction industry would be an asset
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively
- Strong knowledge of AR and Collection processes
- Ability to take initiative and work proactively
- Ability to negotiate in a tactful and diplomatic manner using superior oral and written communication skills
- Deadline and performance-driven
- Detail-oriented, efficient, and accurate
